Physical and Mechanical Properties of Radiata Pine

It is a soft timber with an average density of 450 (kg./m3) when air dried to 12% m.c.

Shrinkage: Radial 2.1% Tangential 3.4% Volumetric 5.1% Very stable after drying.

Because of its rapid growth rate, Radiata Pine is very easy to kiln dry.
